Prior to SAS® 9.4, SAS/ACCESS Interface to DB2 on z/OS systems did not support the DB2 data type of BIGINT. However, rather than issuing a message or setting the variable to missing, the SAS variable was assigned a very small number close to zero. Depending on the SAS format that you assigned to the variable, the value displayed was either as a very small decimal number or as a zero.
The only workaround for this issue is not to include the variable when you created the SAS data set.
